Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy has a 95% success rate but occasionally does fail. If this occurs in the first year following your root canal, we will refund you 100% of the fee paid for the treatment. After the first year, and for a period of five years from the time of treatment, if your root canal fails, we will refund the portion you paid for the root canal.
Composite (White) Fillings
When a tooth has a cavity, we will remove the infected area and seal the defect with a composite filling no larger than 50% of the tooth. It is the remaining tooth that supports the filling. When a cavity damages more than 50% of a tooth, a crown is needed to protect the structural integrity of the tooth.
Sometimes we will place a filling assuming that the tooth is still strong enough when it really isn’t. In this case, the tooth may begin to fracture under pressure. If this occurs within a period of two years, we will credit the cost of the filling toward the cost of a crown. In addition, for a period of two years from the date of restoration, we will replace a composite filling due to breakage, an improper fit, or decay at no cost to the patient.
- This warranty will be invalid and void if the patient does not maintain their recommended professional dental cleanings (either every three, four, or six months).
- If a tooth becomes sensitive after a dental treatment and requires root canal therapy, this does not constitute failure but is a treatment complication. There are many reasons a tooth requires root canal therapy that are beyond our control (deep cavities, fracture lines, and individual patient sensitivities). If the root canal is completed at our office, it carries a five-year warranty, just like a crown.
- This warranty does not cover breakage due to accidents, trauma, or inappropriate use (chewing ice, opening bottles, etc.).
